Game one of the wild card rounds did not disappoint. 20 year old Juan Soto played super hero as he gave the Washington Nationals their first playoff win in franchise history. While my crystal ball was a bit cloudy i did come close to pin pointing some wild predictions.

So before we get into my predictions for the AL wild card game lets review how I did last night

1. Trea Turner will hit a leadoff homerun. Man I was sooooo close to nailing this one. Trea belted a homer but unfortunately for me it was during his second at bat. Fortunately for the Nat’s this homer gave them a shot of life when they were down 3-0.

2. Anthony Rendon will hit 3 doubles. So my bad on this one. I think I may have accidentally cursed Rendon…but he did have a big walk which lead to Soto’s hit. However, this does count as a big miss on my part.

3. Ryan Braun will miss a pop fly. I have no way to prove this but I swear I almost predicted Grisham was going to make an error. In all seriousness you gotta feel for this kid, huge prospect with tons of talent and will have this play hanging over his head all offseason. With that being said there is only one way to react to a situation like this….

4. Max Scherzer will pitch 7.1 innings with 11 k’s and 1 earned run. Before making this prediction I did’t realize he stunk in the second half of the season and apparently was injured. Guess I should pay more attention before I make these claims.

So here we go here are 6 more predictions for tonight’s AL WilddCard game.

1. There will be some sort of non baseball related delay in the game. That’s right, something weird is going to happened to hault this game for an extended period of time. The lights will blow out, bees will infest the field, or the sprinkler system is going to randomly come on and not be able to be shut off. I’m not sure exactly what it will be, but something weird will happen.

2. Sean Manaea plunks Yandy Diaz to lead off the game. If you could not tell I’m a big fan of the lead off prediction. This time however, there will not be a homerun, but rather a bean ball.

3. There will be 3 total homers by players named Matt. Between Chapman, Olson, and Duffy this seems like a no brainer.

4 . Diago Castillo gets rocked. D.C. gives up 3 runs at a minimum…he stinks
