Survivor Edge of Extinction Week 4 Review

He came in like the Kool-Aid man and he left with his head held high. The legend of Rick Devens moves to the edge of extinction. Rick Devens has all the feelings of a survivor character that we will be seeing a lot of in the future. Not just because he chose to take the boat ride to the edge of extinction but because he has all the signs that he will be back as a returning player. I mean Jeff is only using his last name…we know what that means for him as a character. I just wish Rick the best of luck before he is chewed out by Reem like a 10 year old who has gone weeks without cleaning his room.

The Lioness: Survive and Advance

Well for the first time we see a glimpse of weakness in Lauren. In today’s Survivor the strategy and entertainment aspect of the game carries most of the shows weight but Lauren’s struggles serve as a reminder that the Survival element of the game is still a huge factor even if it is not always at the forefront. However, despite all of this Lauren survived the the vote and survived her first time getting legitimate heat. The triple threat of The Wardog The Wentworth and Lauren is a powerful alliance that appears to have a solid loyalty to each other. I was screaming at my T.V. for Lauren to play her idol as everyone knows you do not want to go home with an idol in your pocket. As it turns out she did not need it and still has it in her arsenal for when the time calls. It was a close call tonight for Lauren but at the end of the day I still really like her position. If the original Manu is to lose next week I have a really hard time seeing her on the chopping block. Former Mets third basemen David Wright seems to be the new low man on the totem pole especially after losing his closet ally. The Wardog time and again has proven his loyalty and willingness to be a soldier for Wentworth which now gives Lauren a second shield when they make it to the merge. As I have been saying this entire season Lauren is the Lioness who is waiting in the grass for her perfect time to strike. I have never been more confident then I am now that Lauren is winning the million dollars.

Hang in there Lauren

Week 4 hot takes

Okay so here are some crazy theories from this season:

Joe outplays Ron

It is clear that Ron is playing the game and playing the game hard. He sees Joe as the clear threat that he is and even orchestrated a double agent-esk diversion so Julia could rummage through his bag to look for an idol. I think Joe will turn the tables on Ron at some point in the season and lead a plan to vote him out. A crazy blindside with all sorts of random things going right for Joe. (Somehow I think Wendy will have something to do with this)

Aubry and Victoria make it to the final three

It is hard to get a read on the strategy of the members of the original Kama tribe simply because they have not had to use much strategy yet. I have seen Aubry and Victoria begin to build something together and these two working together can create something special. With Aubry’s idol who knows maybe these two meet Lauren in the final three. Oh and of course they lose to the Lioness.

Wendy quits the game

I have no basis for this besides that it appears that the only person who can stop Wendy is herself. She has scratched and clawed her way through this game, stolen flint, and now released the chickens. Wendy said it herself that she is wildcard and no disrespect to her but she seems like an unstable person. I think somewhere down the line she takes herself out of the game. Oh Wendy…….

Who is going home next?

Well as I said if original Manu goes to tribal for the 5th week in a row I really see David Wright going home. However, the law of averages has to come into play and original Manu finally has to win immunity right? I mean they don’t even need to win a challenge completely all they have to do is not lose. In a weird way Manu is actually a pretty strong tribe. Wentworth and Lauren are both athletic and The Wardog has raw strength. David is smart and in theory should be good at puzzles. So I am going to trust original Manu to pull one out this upcoming week and I will say the losing curse will go to the “new” Manu tribe. Last week my random generator told me Eric was going home and this week I am claiming the same. I am pretty much basing this on the week 5 preview clip so if this is correct please do not call me a hero or visionary. So it seems like Aubry and Victoria will make a power play and send Eric to the Edge of Extinction.

Reem is coming

So the queen of the White Walkers now has both Chris and Devens in her army of the dead. She broke down the young buck Chris who now makes her lunch as she lounges in the shelter. Rick will be the latest person to be broken down by the powerful Reem. As the contestants squabble over tribe swaps and freed chickens Reem gathers her powers on the edge of extinction and is ready to unleash chaos into the game.
