Okay, people, this is not a drill! It has been quite a while since I discovered a new 2004 Red Sox player T, but all of my hard work has paid off. If you would like a refresher on my challenge please read my original blog.

So my latest adventure took me to a thrift store on Seekonk MA. As a rifled through the store, I was elated when I stumbled upon a TROT NIXON player t. One of my favorite all-time players who I met a few years ago at McCoy Stadium. When I found this shirt I was overcome with joy and like most times when I come upon a great find at a thrift store, I snap chatted the find to my friends. The replies I got back were telling of the kind of player Trot was. “Original Dirt Dog’, “Grinder” and “Lunch Pale Player” were the responses I received. This shows the respect that Sox fans have for Trot. Fans here in Boston require one thing: hustle. That’s right, Trot made his career grinding out at-bats, running hard down the line and diving for balls in the outfield. Nothing symbolized the man’s hard work than his sweat-stained hat which he folded up in his pocket to keep safe. In honor of #7, I will proudly be wearing this shirt when I visit Fenway Park this year.

Here is my new shirt

So let’s recap the goal: I am trying to find every player shirt of the 2004 Red Sox.
This brings my current total up to 9 which includes
- Curt Schilling
- David Ortiz
- Manny Ramirez
- Nomar Garciaparra
- Gabe Kappler
- Jason Varitek
- Kevin Youkilis
- Johnny Damon
- Trot Nixon
Who will I find next? The hunt continues!
